News Letter Module Feature Upgrades Sept2007
Click Thrus Below you will see the main list for viewing Click Thrus. This list will be composed of all newsletters for which there is Click Thru stats available. Currently these stats are based on overall Click Thrus for each news letter and is not specific to an instance the letter was sent.

Here you will see the summary listing for ‘Newsletter 1’. This area will list each URL that was in a Click Thru link as well as the total number of times that link was clicked on. Only links that have been clicked on will appear here. This does not keep track of every Click Thru link listed in the news letter, but only records the data as people click on the links in their email.

Here you will see a list of details for the one URL we had in a Click Thru. This shows the name, email address, and the type of the person who clicked on the Click Thru link. The ‘Type’ indicates which system the person belongs to. Different types include Users, Form Result, and Directory (Business Directory).

News Letter History Another new feature added to the news letter module is the ability to view a history of sent news letters. In the main listing you will have the ability to delete an item as well as view the details which includes a list of email addresses the news letter was sent to.

Below is the ‘Details’ screen for a sent news letter. You will see the time the news letter was sent as well as a list of email address, and the ID number for the User/Group, Form Result, and Business Directory. As noted in the screen shot, duplicate email addresses will show up in this listing only to show all reasons the email address has received the news letter. For example, mikem@osmnetworks.com has received the news letter because it was sent to the group of Form Results as well as the Business Directory listing. We have done extensive testing to ensure that only ONE news letter is sent to each unique email address.

Unsubscribe Links Another feature is the ability to send unsubscribe links to the recipient. If enabled in the sending process, the recipient of the news letter will receive a unsubscribe link for each association they have to receiving the news letter. In the image above you saw the email address mikem@osmnetworks.com received the news letter because they are a user in a group as well as responded to a form. Below is what that recipient will see at the bottom of their news letter. As you can see, we give them the option to unsubscribe from receiving news letters on behalf the administrators group as well as their submission to the form ‘UserName Field Testing’. When they unsubscribe we put a record in our news letter exceptions table and from that point on, the person will not receive any more news letters on behalf of the group, form, or directory. This option does not remove any data associated.
